I have a ring that is marked OB in a cartouche followed by three crowns and a Roman numeral X in a squared cartouche. I have identified it as an early Ostby and Bartow piece. It tests for 10K, wondering if the X is a purity mark, and trying to determine the age of the ring.
I am wondering if this mark would put it pre 1906?

X marks the spot by: Anonymous
If the ring is Rose Gold, ' the X in a circle' jewelry mark, will therefore Not be the the 'X in a circle mark' for EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND on Sterling Silver Imported Wares - ca 1904 - Present.
There is an X on gold theory that 1 X is 10K, 2 is 14K, and 3 is 18K.
