What does NF and 925 mean on an old marcasite and MOP ring

Old MOP and marcasite ring?

I inherited this old ring that is marcasite on the sides and Mother of Pearl in the center. Inside the band are the letters NF and the numbers 925. Can ypu tell me how old the ring is and identify the markings please.
