Want to choose appropriate chain

I found a sterling locket in an antique shop with my initials on it! How could I not buy it? The proprietor said it was c 1920.

I want to find a sterling chain on which to wear it. What style or type of chain would be most authentic? How do I find a chain that isn't all super shiny new that would clash with the older-looking locket?
