Unusual Metal and Rhinestone or Paste Necklace

hi! i have been collecting for years and im totally mystified by this one! it is a gold or brass tone woven metal necklace with rhinestones or paste stones. the sections are like a ribbon of woven metal formed into flowers with stones in them. each section is looped on to another flower section of woven metal. never seen anything like it.
