Hi thanks for writing in!

What an interesting ring! The two hands clasping together in handshake fashion sounds to me like it could be a FEDE Ring - "fede" Italian meaning "Trust".

I'm not sure if the handclasp is the maker's mark or an actual Fede Ring. We would need to see an image to provide more info. You can read about the Promise Ring/FEDE Ring and also see an image of this sign, the two hands clasped in shaking hands.
