Hi MT - with the price of gold reaching historic highs your gold rings should be appraised. The weight of the rings is important, when investing in gold jewelry.
From your description they're marked 18 carat gold and the second ring is fully hallmarked with the maker's initials being that of - H&W HEMMING & WALTON (Birmingham, UK) - ca 1910s - 1920s
Take the rings to your local jeweler and have them appraised for insurance purposes and also for your peace of mind. The jeweler will also be able to test and grade the diamonds, I can't see much point in a jeweler using glass stones in an 18ct gold ring.
Thanks for writing to us and sorry for the delay, we have been flat out....
