Pearl ID
by: SG

They look very much like my pearls by Hallmark. Basing on the clasp.

Thank You!

Yes I am sure they are real, LOL. Selling jewelry a while, I learned the pearl tricks a long time ago. I did take the slide gauge and they are all perfectly matched 6mm, I noticed on ebay some finer pearls were 5.5-6mm varied on size. Not these. Thanks for the tip. Will check out the jeweler and see if I can come up with more.

Identifying Cultured Pearls
by: Yvonne

Hi there!
your pearls really do look amazing! Pearls come in eight basic shapes, round, semi-round, button, drop, oval, baroque and circled. Perfectly round pearls are the rarest and most valuable. Your pearls look like they are perfectly matched for size. I did do some homework to find a mark similiar to the maker's mark that you have nicley drawn (thank you !) - capital letter W in a diamond lozenge shape and the manufacturer - W.E.M WEINBERG Manufacturing Jewelers and Silversmiths, New York, NY, USA ca. 1906-1919.

It might not be this maker, they could just have similiar marks, however, if this is the manufacturer, the date complicates things a bit because it would indicate that the pearls are early
cultured pearls;
in the cultured pearl chronology. It was only in the year 1905 that Mikimoto first succeeded in culturing spherical pearls. The first Mikimoto Pearl store opened in London in 1913, followed by establishments in Shaghai, Bombay, Los Angeles, Chicago and New York. Are you certain they are cultured pearls and not imitation pearls? This information will be most important. Thanks for visiting!

Kind Regards
