yes, such a simple, personal and delicate item, as you mention. It's hard to believe that the glasses only suffered a crack to one of the lenses during the Titanic sinking and being on the ocean floor for that many years too.
Someone else wrote in, that the object that touched her the most that belonged to the passengers of the Titanic, was a simple silver-plated jewelry tray designed in the Art Nouveau style - it's not a great treasure on planet finance, but a poignant and very personal piece all the same.
PG, I have moved your Russian Ring question, over to the new gold hallmark questions page here. https://www.antique-jewelry-investor.com/antique-gold-hallmarks-question.html

Most memorable artifact... by: Pearl Girl
Yvonne,
Both exhibits were fascinating and stirred up quite a few emotions, but the item that impacted me most was a pair of reading glasses. They were still intact, save for a small crack in one of the lenses. That is pretty remarkable!
The thing that struck me was that this was a personal item that the owner probably used every single day. I imagine that the eyeglasses were never very far out of reach - even in the last moments aboard the Titanic.
I urge everyone to view one of these exhibits. You'll be glad you did.

Titanic Exhibition by: Yvonne Hammouda-Eyre
Hi Pearlgirl
I totally agree with you. I think the jewelry and the titanic memorabilia that you see in the titanic exhibits keeps the memory of these people alive. And as long as we're still thinking about them, in my view they still exist.
Could you tell us what item of titanic memorabilia left the most lasting impression on you at the titanic exhibit?
