This 14K Citrine Diamond Brooch is stamped "India" Is it from India?

I have not been able to find back-up on the "India" stamp. The contemporary brooch tests as citrine, 14K, diamond, but I'd like to know if it is from India. I'd love any help or leads. Thanks so much.
