TC Marks Overlapping

We have an old brooch from an aunt and we know nothing about it. The only mark is the letters TC which over lap each other. In other words, the T is on top of the C. We sent it to Tiffany's with no luck, they could not give us a report. Following the TC is "18" which we assume means 18 carat. Any help would be great.
