Without the benefit of a photo it's pretty hard to tell. The following jewelry manufacturer had a strange needle looking mark, it looks like a needle or pencil lying horizontally and at one end it has a wire loop pointing out, like you see on a needle threader. I think the mark is actually supposed to be an early version of a jewelers loupe lying on its side but not sure.
