Spainish Domestic Silver Hallmarks - 1934 to 1988
by: Anonymous

Just to add -in 1934 there was a revision of silver hallmarks. The 1st standard was marginally lowered from 916 to 915 (designated by the 5 pointed star) while the second standard remained the same at 750.

Star in circle and hexagon hallmarks
by: Efrosini

I have a ring with these exact marks, on the outside of the shank. From what I’ve gathered the five pointed star is for Spanish "plata de ley" which is 915/1000 pure silver.

The hexagon is the Spanish makers mark. The letter below the number is the assay office code, V would be for Valencia. 81 would be the maker, but I’m unable to find any information on who that would have been.
