I have a gold bracelet. It says 14k us(I believe) then a star symbol. I have looked everywhere I even took it to a pawn shop. And they said that was just the Maker's Mark. But I kept going up in the small offers they were giving. I have kept the bracelet sets and assuming it must be worth it.

Sideways Anchor by: Anonymous
it's difficult to see the jewelry marks, although I can see the star in a circle at the end clearly.
Sideways anchor, sideways letter "H" followed by a Star in a circle is the sponsor's mark:
HENRY HEBBARD Manufacturing Silversmiths, New York, NY, USA - ca 1835 - 1869

22 carat gold in Britain by: Yvonne
From 1576 - 1798 only the highest standard of gold, 22 caratage was used in wedding rings. It was only afterward that 18 carat became the normal, except from 1942, during world war II when in Britain 9 carat became the standard.

British Hallmarks Resource by: Sally
You've done some good research ! I have listed a site below that may be able to assist you further. I'm still checking my resources on the star mark but so far have found nothing. This specific page on British Hallmarks might help.
If I can locate more information, I'll let you know. I have a couple of other hallmark books to check.
