"SOLID GOLD" and left facing lion.

smallish ring with the words SOLID GOLD stamped inside and a left facing lion. The ring has three stones set in it.

I thought the lion was for silver only? This ring was so black before I cleaned it I thought it was tarnished sterling.
Could this really be solid gold? It is very heavy for it's size.
