Sea Garden Old Pearls

Not sure if these are real. My mother got them in the 1930's and said they were cultured. A certificate in the box says they are the renowned "Sea Garden" pearls. But no address or year mentioned.

The beads seem to be peeling which makes me think they are fake.

Have you heard of "Sea Garden" pearls?
