your lovely necklace is probably a fake but not because of the capital block mark but because the metal tag seems superimposed on the clasp. Also the style is not consistent with other signed Schiaparelli of the same age

schiaparelli evidence by: Anonymous
I'm not totally convinced the capital block Schiaparelli mark is evidence of a fake... It seems to me more likely pieces produced in Europe in the period around 1953/54- there are more obvious fakes with both signature script and the above mentioned capital block ones, in everycase the mispelling of the name is one of the clue, another one is the relative lack of consistence like a light weight or poor casting.
These seems to me more crucial factor then the signature.. Also I coul'd find in the web or elsewhere a trace of a manufacture being sued by Schiaparelli company for producing those....

Fake v Genuine Schiaparelli by: Anonymous
so if a copyright sign (C in a circle) near the Schiaparelli signature logo then means it's a fake, does that mean if there is NO Copyright sign near the signature it is authentic? Thank you.

so sorry by: Anonymous
Sorry to tell you this is not an authentic Schiaparelli. This is a company that made fake Schiaparelli pieces and were in fact sued for it. Whenever you see the schiaparelli with the copyright sign it is most assuredly a fake.

Schiaparelli - Fake or Genuine Baroque Pearl Necklace by: Anonymous
Hi Elizabeth thank you for writing in about the following vintage costume jewelry question:
"My husband purchased a Schiaparelli Baroque Pearl Necklace for me. I am worried it is a fake and wanted to inquire about it's authenticity and value."
apparently, from what I can gather, early 1930s Schiaparelli pieces were unsigned and you hardly ever see them today. Pieces in the late 1930s were signed "schiaparelli" in LOWER case block letters up until 1949 and "Schiaparelli" in script after 1949, and "Designed in Paris--Created in America" 1949.
