SB with sm diamond set inside ring

Have my mother's ring. Emerald with baguette and other diamonds in white gold. Inside mark SB and a small diamond set below it. Mother was told it was by New York designer. The SB is lg block letters inside a deep stamped square. Sorry no photo.
