If the ring shows a woman with a Phrygian cap with wings it could be winged Liberty (as seen on the dime 1916-1945 - aka Mercury dime). Or-- if male, it could be the messenger god Hermes (Greek)/ Mercury (Roman). Maybe someone else knows more.
