I've got a ring w/a Capital "U", and there is an arrow that points straight upward through the middle of it, followed by, E L. I describe the mark by thinking it says,, 'Upper (^),.Epsi-Lon'! lol,,, My local jeweler couldn't identify the mark either. He said it wasn't silver. Okay? But it's something.. maybe Platinum? It's beautiful...

I acquired this ring from a storage unit. I have searched everywhere online and I cannot find out what the inside engraving means or what it may be worth. I thought I could post a pic, but I guess not. It looks like a mens gold ring. The outside has an eagle on the front and both sides. The inside is engraved with Made in the USA and a arrow with a U in the middle of the arrow. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Alta, RN

I have a ring thats silver-toned with the ornate U with arrow curved through it and copyright sign it has a lifted design holding Jade and rhinestones it is still shiny and i tested it for platinum not sure how to test correctly im new at this but the metal didn't change I bought it at a thrift store for about 10.00. Wondering if it could possibly be platinum since there is no marked acknowledgement?

Hello, I'm not sure this will get to the person that is asking about the sterling ring. That is signed With a arrow through the U and 8.The 8 is most likely the size. The arrow through the U is uncas. Look Uncas Up. Hope this helps.

Hi the C in a circle is possibly a copyright symbol. Uncas had two marks and the second is the one you describe. It was introduced in the 1920s.

Not a Patent Number

Patent numbers are longish so we can rule out a patent number for this one - I have an Uncas celluloid dog brooch marked Patent No. 140888 which was a patent granted in 1945 to Nicholas Barbieri for Uncas.

Uncas is a nice area to collect and prices are pretty reasonable.

I have 2 rings with the same mark

My grandfather on my mom's side passed down his mother's gold ring and it has the same "U" with an arrow through it followed by the size, with a 1 karat diamond on it (I got the diamond checked out). My grandmother on my dad's side passed down a ring the exact same style with a 1 karat diamond and the same "U" with an arrow through it followed by the size, but it's platinum. The same style, same maker's mark, same size diamond; 2 different sides of my ancestry. I can't find mention of where they were made or who made them.

Right pointing Arrow through a U

Hi. I was at a yard sale recently and bought a ring for a nominal amount. 50 cents maybe? I got it home and got to looking at it and found the insignia inside of a right facing arrow through a U. The ring itself is fairly ornate looking, in a simple way. If that makes any sense. The "stone" which I suspect is glass is clear. There is a design on the ring of a double zigzag nature with some leaves? up around the area that holds the stone. The area where the stone sits looks like a crown.

Hi Karen, thank you for the accompanying drawing of the jewelry mark. It helped! This mark, with the left pointing arrow through the letter U was the trade mark for -UNCAS MFG CO ca. 1950s.
