Rudolf Erdel. Lovely use of Plat and diamonds, and sometimes a bit of yellow gold.

It sounds like they are from a designer named Rudolph Erdel. A New York artisan who passed away way before his time. I love his work!

Hi James thanks for writing in with the following question:
"I have a platinum ring marked 950 Plat, the OED and the Copyright symbol "c inside circle" and then R E with the R imposed over the E at the top SO the R is angled on top of the E. R, then E.
It was bought at Neiman Marcus, 1999 and is designed with diamonds (like a deck of cards diamond) then real round diamonds in between. A very nice ring heavy and it cost around 3K then so not sure if that helps but please let me know when you find out.
Still new at this so any help you can give me is greatly appreciated. Jim K"
James, this ring sounds gorgeous! The way you describe the diamond setting makes me think of the way Eisenberg sometimes used rhinestones in his jewelry. Extraordinary. I can't help but notice a quality piece of jewelry ever now and then, modeled from an Eisenberg original.
I've looked though a number of data bases, and unfortunately come up with nothing on the marks you describe. I'm wondering if it was made by a non-commercial jewelry company?
If anyone has any info on this maker, that might help to solve the puzzle, we would love to hear from you.
