I see a lot of RGP but I am sure mine ends in an R. If the ring is rolled gold does that mean the stones are fake?

1/30 14K RGP by: Paul
I came across a ring with the same markings. It was difficult to read at first, but with the help of google I believe it says: 1/30 14K RGP. According to google this means rolled gold plated, the gold is 14 karat, and one 30th of the total weight was gold.
Thanks Paul for your comment!
RGP - ROLLED GOLD PLATE is just an older term for Gold Filled. The sheets of gold were a bit thicker but the same process was used. The term was used in the early 20th century. Regards Yvonne

What the Jewelry Marks are not. by: Yvonne
Good-morning! when a mark has worn down with age, it creates problems for any hallmark guru :( but as they say, where there's a will there is a way!
Do you have a magnifying glass or a jewelers loupe 10 x or plus magnification? Jewelry loupes are not expensive and a must have tool for any jewelry collector.
You will need to upload (in a follow-up submission which I will attach manually to your original post here) a photo of the markings. We can get clues from the style of the first two initials of the mark and the shield (if any) the initials appear in.
Then we can look at other clues and with our powers of deduction, first work out what the marks are not.
