Possibly 30s or 40s hallmark question...

I have a ring that I believe was my grandmother's. She was born in 1923. The ring seems like it was a rough cast, but maybe it just went down the garbage disposal. It has a unique texture on the top of very fine cross hatching and 2 stones centered in the middle. I think the marking might be an artists marking, but I have no idea how to find anything out about the maker. Any insight would be helpful as I'm trying to determine if I should insure it or not.
