Orange Blossom Ring by Traub

by Kathy Snead
(Front Royal, Virginia)

I have an old Orange Blossom ring by Traub Manufacturing Co. It is beautiful and very unique. I can not identify the time frame on it.

I have seen many rings by them but nothing that has even come close to mine. There are markings inside the ring that has Orange Blossom, a circle with TT in it, and it is marked 14k 18k.

I took it to a jewelry shop to have it cleaned and they told me that the diamond was at least a half a carat, it was an old mine cut diamond, and it had no fish eye. (I am not sure what that might mean.)

They also told me that the way the diamond sits in the blossom setting that it looks like the ring was made around the diamond because it had a perfect fit.

Could anyone help me identify the name of the ring and around what year it is from? Or anything else about it would be nice.

Thanks,
Kathy

Orange Blossom tri-color squared band, ca 1981
by: Betsy

I am looking to replace a lost wedding band, purchased in late 1980 or early 1981. It was a squared tri-color band, mostly brushed, but with polished beveled edges. It was part of a set (engagement ring, men's and women's wedding bands). Does anyone know the name of this design, or perhaps have one for sale?

Orange Blossom - Rose Wedding Ring Set
by: Anonymous

I am looking for pictures of a wedding band set of an orange blossom setting from around 1974. The engagement ring was an antiqued rose holding the diamond. It is then set in a two-sided band that was antiqued. It was lost years ago and I have been trying to find a picture so I can duplicate it as a surprise for my wife. Any help would be appreciated.

Orange blossom rings for sale
by: Matt Austin

I also wanted to add that they are at least the 70s maybe way earlier. They aren’t engraved with orange blossoms.
This ring set I have for sale is either engraved with the star pattern or snowflake. I don’t know much about them and just saw the orange blossom engraving and these have to be stars or snowflakes
Which are very hard to find

I have pics and FaceTime....
So please let me know if you are interested or have more answers about these rings
I don’t want to pawn them and after finding more info I’m not going to but I do want to know what the guy at the pawn shop has to add about these rings.
I’d rather sell privately

Orange Blossom diamond with Greek key design
by: Brooksaw123@

Looking for an Orange Blosdom diamond engagement ring (set) purchased in 1969-70 with a yellow gold narrow ring band that was very slightly squared that sweeps around the finger and on top provides a edge for a raised white gold/platinum/silver raised Greek key design topped by a flat bar from which the diamond setting rises. Easier to draw and hard to describe. I felt it was reasonably delicate, pretty and simply elegant. Sad it was stolen and would love to see one again. There was a somewhat similar silver/white gold ring that also has a bar over a design making it a "high" and somewhat delicate setting.

Restoring the Orange Blossom Pattern
by: Anonymous

orange blossom update:

I've been informed by a Jeweller that once the pattern has worn down it's pretty much finished.
Someone might be able to re-engrave it for you, Engraving the pattern onto the band might be a way towards prolonging the life of the orange blossom pattern. Something like an intaglio of the orange blossom design engraved into the metal as opposed to a low relief like a cameo.
Yours sincerely
Yvonne

also looking for picture orange blossom, clasped hands, open bible

My wife and I would love to find a picture of the design on our wedding bands, as well, and refreshing the detail on my well-worn band would be great.

Unfortunately, I do not recall the name of our particular design. Purchased in 1972 - both wedding bands have orange blossoms, of course, but also clasped hands, hearts, and an open Bible. The band on the engagement ring has fewer elements.

Re-freshening Orange Blossom Pattern
by: Anonymous

You are not alone - it seems every one that has the Traub orange blossom ring - just loved it! We could start a Traub Orange Blossom fan club!

The Orange Blossom is a powerful symbol in Feng Shui cosmology & said to attract prosperity and good luck. I do believe in the magic of Feng Shui myself. Especially Feng Shui in the bedrooom!

That's a really good question you've asked and I'm certain there are other orange blossom engagment and wedding ring owners that would love to know the answer too.

The highly desirable 'Orange Blossom' pattern was one of the most popular designs to be found on engagement and wedding rings in the United States in the American art deco. I would love to know what inspired this desgin?

Traub was a jewelry manufacturer of high quality die cast and hand engraved jewelry.

Jewellers who believe they have what it takes to re-freshen the orange blossom pattern on estate orange blossom rings by Traub you are hired! Many of the patterns have worn away over time as my friend who wrote in describes, could you please let us know if this work can be done ? Reply to this post thank you!

The orange blossom pattern is on the wedding band by Traub in the photo below. (This ring is in great condition considering its age and the pattern is still fresh).

Yvonne

I have an Orange Blossom ring from my first marriage in 1977. I believe that we got it in 1976. It, too, is in a very safe place and is very treasured. It is yellow gold, and it kind of reminds me of a class ring. The diamond is in a cup, and the background in the cup is black. It has antique-looking cutouts on each side of the engagement ring, and the cutouts are blackened or antiqued. I love it. <3

I have a brochure that shows an engagement ring by Orange Blossom (by Josten) that I almost got - and wish I had. This was in 1978. It's yellow gold, with the band splitting into two - like a fork in a road - and meeting up at the top where the 1/3 carat diamond "sits" in a black, oxidized "cup". The set was called "Majestic." (The wedding band was two pieces, rounded in the middle, to accommodate the round "cup" of the engagement ring. ) Would anyone know where I could find this diamond ring and buy it?

I have an Orange Blossom engagement ring & wedding ring from 1991-1992. It was an epic getting it. It was the Holly setting - filigree, love it. I have the photo in a Seventeen magazine I saved w/ my wedding gown pic, Pricilla of Boston.

The marriage is over, but I still have these things-locked up, once it was almost stolen, but I had hidden it, locked up after my divorce. So, that's my story, I always loved it!! I wouldn't part w/it the stone is high quality too.
I wore it daily while married.

Hi,
I am not sure what your ring looks like. I just found this page today, but I too have a Traub Orange Blossom ring. It was my great-grandmother's engagement ring. Very pretty. I know that they were married in 1930, as it is inscribed. That is how I found the ring name and style, was reading the inscription. I hope that this helps you.

My ring has beautiful scrolling and then 3 small diamonds on the side of the main diamond, which is set in a square shape. It is platinum. My grandparents were married in Brooklyn, New York. I do not know if this ring belonged to my grandmother's mother or not, but I think that it may have, which would put it at around 1910.

Orange Blossom Canada
by: Kim Mizerak

Hi! Found a little info...

Orange Blossom WAS a jewelry line made by the Traub Co. in Detroit from the '30s-'70s, and Jostens (the class ring company) bought them out and destroyed the molds. But there was also a division in Canada. A Canadian company took over the Canadian line when sold. Hard to pinpoint the date of your ring, however, the '30s-40s were mainly filigree, and personally I think your ring looks '60s-70s. Please see www.orangeblossom.ca as the company that bought the line is still in business, they have some older brochures, but i didn't see your ring. Hope it helps!
(Oh, and 'fish eye' means there's a 'circle' of light in the middle of the stone (not infinity like today's diamonds) because the bottom point of the diamond was actually cut flat (not pointed) so it looks like a fish's eye.)

Enjoy!

Kim

Antique Traub Orange Blossom Engagement Ring

by Staci Halverson
(West Fargo, ND, United States)

I found your website while researching my engagement ring. It seems to be a Traub Orange Blossom ring from the 1930s, but I'm no expert and have run into a wall with my research.

My fiancée told me he'd like me to pick out my ring when we got engaged because I have very eclectic taste. Knowing that I wanted an old/antique ring, we started hunting locally and found absolutely nothing. Local jewelers wanted to sell us stamped out copies of old rings, which in my opinion doesn't look nice and misses the point of an antique.

I wanted to find something someone had worn for many years, something that had a story. I then went online, as scary as it was to purchase something I wouldn't be able to actually see until it arrived.

We purchased "the ring" online from a jeweler in Dearborn Michigan who comes by rings as lots from other jewelry stores. The ring is platinum and marked with "TT" (i think), "PLAT.", and "Orange Blossom". We were told the center diamond (1.05ct) is an ideal cut, and it has small white inclusions on the one side so it is natural. the filigree is very defined, so I imagine it must have been hand cut. It's a unique design and I love the character it has...I have never seen anything like it!

I was wondering what else you might be able to tell me about:

• Traub - Any history, info on jewelry quality, and how sought-after/common are their items?

• The age of the ring...30s?

• How was it made...stamped and then hand-carved?

• What exactly is "Orange Blossom"? From my research, it seems many companies created "Orange Blossom" rings but Traub had Trademarked the name.

I have attached pictures, but please let me know if you need anything else.

Best Regards,
Staci

Old Orange Blossom Traub Ring Box
by: XENA0056

I have a friend who's mom left her an antique Orange Blossom ring box. It is rather large and a rectangle shape and ornately decorated. I would attach a picture if I could. It has an orange blossom on the front of the box and the top appears to have a couple walking hand in hand and the woman has on a long gown, while it appears the guests are wandering in the background. The bottom of the box has feet and the base is stamped with a pebble textured finish with the Traub Stamp. Is there any value to this type of ring box.

Orange Blossom Era
by: Brenda

Platinum styles like this were popular in the 20's and 30's.

Ideal cut stone concept was not discovered until 1919 by Tolkowsky, so cutting this style didn't advance until much later (1950's I believe it took off). Most rings of this era do not have Ideal cut stones, my guess is the stone is not original, which isn't uncommon for the age of the ring. Ideal cut is the best cut quality you can get, so it will sparkle amazing!!

Orange Blossom by Traub(USA) I believe existed in the late 30's until late 70's/early 80's. Also had a branch in Canada that I believe still will manufacture old models. In the industry Orange Blossom was considered a fine quality company using fine quality goods to set into their jewelry.

Orange Blossom?

by Kirsty
(Glastonbury, UK.)

Hi- I was given a yellow gold wedding band by my mother in law (now deceased) which had been bought by her husband (also deceased) in the late 60's/early seventies. Unfortunately I was burgled yesterday and the ring was one of the items taken. I am desperately trawling the web for pictures so that I may circulate an accurate portrayal of the ring for purposes of recognition (and also that I may get an evaluation for my insurance company)

It was a flat band of roughly 1cm width. It was thick and heavy and had orange blossom, four petal flowers engraved around it. It did not have "Orange Blossom" engraved inside the band, so does this mean it was not made by the Orange Blossom company?
I am really struggling to find something similar online and would be grateful for any pointers or advice.
Many thanks in anticipation
Kirsty x

I own a c shaped muilti coiored block letter signature weiss pin or brooch probably rhinstone with a goldish or yellow braiding that runs completely around the outside of the pin or brooch. It is definitely vintage costume jewelry, but lovely and sparkly. It is approximately. 2 inches high and about an inch in width at the larger part of the c shape. I paid $50 for it, in an antique/vintage type shop about 7 years ago in key west, fl. I was wondering if you may know anything about this pin and if the value is about what I paid for it.it is definitely a real Weiss pin. Thank you. Bonnie landino
