would need to see the marks on this ring. At least one close up please. Do you know if the metal is gold? There are many misleading marks out there, in particular around the late 1800s. Buyers believing that the marks indicated gold when in fact it was the trade mark that the company used for gold filled rings.
In this case, the only way to positively ID the metal is to test the metal.
