no marks on my necklace

do not have the original box and there are no markings that i can see on it..the metal is like a dull aluminium color. like i said i have never seen one like it. thank you for any help you can give me

Beautiful Antique Amethyst Necklace

Hi Susan

you have inherited a lovely antique amethyst necklace, made in the late victorian/turn of the century or 1920-30s art deco era - the central stone is a beautiful & large Amethyst gemstone which is a purple/lavender coloured transparent stone and a popular choice with the Victorians and the go-to stone in the art deco period. The necklace is beautiful and more photos would help to narrow down this date more. Is this the original box? Are there any markings on the chain. What is the metal? This will also help to narrow down the date further.

Does the necklace have any markings? Hallmarks, letters/numbers/symbols or metal purity marks? This could help to identify the designer or age. If you can find the designer/manufacture this would give a pretty good indication of the age.
