n shape next to KK in a circe with INLAND in writing

Hi there, my mother come across this ancient looking medallion. We originally thought it was bronze but we tested it with an acid tester and it's shown up gold. It has INLAND written on the back and also a shape looking like a n next to KK in a circle. Just wondering if these are hallmarks? Would be grateful for any information. Many thanks Sara
