from what you have described an appraisal would be advisable.

Mizpah ring by: Denise
I have a gold ring with a topaz stone. In the diamond shaped marking in the band lies a m. Kit is stamped beside it but no number. The ring is in its original ivory? Box with mizpah engraved on it. Is it worth anything? I know it is at least 60-65 years old.

My Mizpah Story by: lily
I have s silver band mizpah ring. Was given to me by mum who was given it by my nans sister 20 years ago. I was not aware that it was my nans ring, who passed away, or the meaning of it when I crashed my car and flipped it upside down into a ditch and lost it. I came out with nothing but scratches!
A few days later I went and visited my nan's sister and she jst so happened to ask about the ring and told me it was my nan's ring and she would like it back at some point (she was not aware that I had it, but thought my mum still did).
I immediately went to the wreckage of my car which had not been recovered, and searched for over an hour only to find it buried in moss over a metre from the car! I have since researched and discovered the meaning of the ring, 'may the lord keep watch between us' and this kind of jewellery was given to people in the war to help them get a safe return back. Don't think I'm ever going to take this ring off :)

Mizpah Ring Value by: Yvonne
As Heather's touching story underneath admits, MIZPAH rings are very special and have a way of getting to the secret and innermost recesses of one's heart. This is one reason I think they are so valued. An 18 k plain gold Mizpah ring, in good condition, for example, can fetch up to $ 1000. The weight of the ring, the caratage, markings (if any) on the band will all be factored into the final determination. Well worth an Expert Appraisal.
Best Wishes,
Yvonne

Another MIZ PAH STORY by: Heather
MIZ PAH RINGS seem to be very special...My Grand mother was given a Miz Pah ring when she was in the hospital giving birth to my father from her husband who was not well...The ring had a diamond & a pearl in the hearts...
My grandfather died when my Dad was only 2 & shortly before he died the pearl fell out...He told my grandmother not to get that heart filled in if anything were to happen to him because it would represent one empty heart...She never filled it in all the years she wore it until giving it to me when I was about 13 years old...She put in my birth stone...Shortly before my grandmother died when I was 19, the diamond fell out...I am now 52 years old & have never got that heart filled in...If & when I pass it on to someone special to me, I will put their birth stone in it...
I'll be keeping an eye on my birthstone though to make sure it doesn't fall out LOL...Actually a number of years ago, the garnet was loose so I quickly replaced the claws...Not willing to take any chances...Just wanted to share another MIZ PAH story with you...Heather
