I received a similar pearl necklace from my husband who brought them back from Vietnam. He purchased them at the PX and paid $89 at the time. I still have my pearls but have had them restrung as a single string with 187 pearls. The description of the clasp and the green velvet box is exactly like mine. I also have the yellow box that the entire gift came in with the price tag still on the box.
