History of the Pocket Watch
by: Max

Norman I'm also interested in the subject of watches. You might be interested to know that in the timeline of pocket watch history, it was Charles II, who in 1675, introduced waistcoats with pockets. Men now carried their watches in their pockets rather than on a pendant.

Values for watches are hard to determine, but I'd strongly suggest you not to sell it, or to try and scrap the gold. You'll regret it.

They don't make watch-cases like this anymore should you think you made a mistake in the gold-scrapping.

There is an interesting article that covers the timeline of watch history here.
