what are the letters - that will help. Those letters are probably the maker's mark. H?B ? can you confirm letter? Also what is the item? It looks like a gold plated? Is it a medallion? Thanx

Sideways Anchor is Birmingham Assay Office by: Karen
Hi Harry - I know the lion is the traditional symbol for purity denoting one of the older precious metals finenesses. The anchor is the birmingham assay office. There are now only 4 British assay offices, London, Birmingham, Sheffield and Edinburg.
I can't see the k from the photo, but that would be the date mark and depending on how it is written, this will tell you the age. The other letter marks look like they are the makers mark or sponsors marks.
Possible confusion, because from the photo, the jewelry looks to be gold over silver.
