A / U with arrow by: Anonymous
Thanks to you starting from the link you provided I have found what I needed. If you scroll down in this link there is a photo of it. As you can see if turned the other way, it could be confused with an "A". Only art missing is the no. 8 or letter B. Its hard to make it out. I do have a glass. Thanks, Lee
The arrow would be the horozontial line through the A if it turned to appear as an A. I'm going to take it in for the acid test tomorrow, and will report back as to what I find out if anything. Thanks again, Lee

Fusing Gold Test by: Anonymous
Good Morning
Lee, you might find the thread - Ring With Arrow Through Letter U helpful. Visitor has uploaded a drawing of the mark, so you can compare notes.
As you're not sure yourself Lee, the mark you are describing, I'm not even going to think about tackling your hallmark question from this direction. Do you have a hand lens? A hand lens might prove its weight in gold.
Gold is nearly twice as heavy as silver and has a histology that brings to the surface the good, the bad and the ugly, in people. Gold is a bright yellow color with a metallic appearance. Gold will fuse on charcoal but I wouldn't try this test with a heirloom ring.
Best Wishes, Yvonne

letter A with arrow by: Anonymous
Got an e-mail saying there was new comments.
The ring I have is just a ring with flat sides. There are grooves for decoration on it. Got it in a box of things at auction.
Too heavy to be aluminum, and isn't magnetic. Just a dull gold color. Thanks, Lee

I also have a ring like this with an arrow that goes through "A" if you look at it one way. Turn it over and it looks like a "U" with the arrow going the other way.
Depending on which way you look at it there is a "B" or an "*" to the left or right. If looking inside with it appearing to be a "U" with the arrow pointing left, the "*" or "B" will be to the rightside. If this discription helps identify it any better. Thanks.
