Recovery of items honours those that perished. It brings to the surface, the items that passengers, who died, could not do themselves. It completes their voyage. The emotion of their last hours and minutes continue to be felt by new generations. Now, over 100 years after the sinking, a long-past era is studied. Although human rights continue to evolve, especially women's rights, old Rose was ahead of her time.
