Is My Ring an Antique ~info~ by: Rogue
Although a lovely bauble in it's own right, this is most certainly a costume piece~ no doubt whatsoever, and no more than 45years old TOPS, so it's not an antique. It is just a base metal then electroplated with microns thin layers of 18K gold.
The GE indicates that. Different companys would "change up" those markings some times the numbers will be together like "14KTHGE", sometimes they break them up to fool folks into thinking its "real".
Sometimes there is an "H", othertimes it's only the "GE" (the "H" just means 'Heavy', but it really has no important significance. The "A" is the makers symbol. These types of rings were department jewellery items in the 1960s/`70s.
Some did have inexpensive real stones, but most are glass. Over time with wearing the sodium & other compounds in a person's skin oils will corrode the bands when they react with the base metal used.
This gives the band a dull greyish look with tiny patchy spots. If you find you love on of these type rings, I know some folks have coated the back/inside of the ring with clear nailpolish to keep this from happening too quick. No matter WHAT jewellery is made of- if you love it -it's special!

Modernistic Looking by: Anonymous
It looks like a modernistic ring to me. Does it test 18 KT gold or is it electroplated? The stones look pretty, are they natural or synthetic? Cheers Janice
