Initials eg on Cameo?

I purchased a cameo brooch yesterday and after wiping away the dust I found initials lower case in cursive either eg or eq, can't tell which for sure, they are etched on the back of the cameo, not on the encasement. Can you help decipher what they mean. Unfortunately I do not know how to attach stuff. Thanks! David
