Hi Celine Thanks for the further info. A collector who has the Hattie Carnegie set comprising of a little gold wire bird nest pin and matching earrings which have three center pearl "eggs" each (no bird) and which looks so sweet, would most likely be very interested. Good Luck! Yvonne

Provenance about my Trembler Ring by: Celine
Hi there, sorry for the late reply. I've been mega busy. No, this ring is "stand-alone" and I actually fell in love with it and purchased it through an online antiques shop for $105 USD (which is more in AUD). It looks genuine to me and is size 7, two sizes too big for any of my fingers.
I have very small hands and thought maybe I could wear it with a ring clip or have it re-sized.
However, I can't bear to tamper with it, i.e. re-size it down as I would like to keep it exactly as it is.
I truly love this ring but think it a waste if it is not worn. Therefore if anyone wants to make me a very good offer for it, I am interested in considering, but I wouldn't part with it lightly. You can email me at thehumanringATgmailDOTcom if that is okay to say that here.
Thanks again for your nice comments!

In Search of Hattie Carnegie Trembler Ring by: Yvonne
Good morning Celine from my tropical rainforest home in Cairns, Australia. Is the ring part of a set? Unusual to see HC ring item? There were a number of HC " tremblers " manufactured for Hattie Carnegie Jewelry - more usually, pins and earring sets.
"Tremblers" as the name suggests move or shake when wearer moves because the little parts are attached by way of little springs - and these parts actually do move or tremble when one moves.
Well, I thought the Hattie Carnegie "goose that laid the golden egg" Pendant was impressive.... The wings of her gold figurative goose move up and down when the egg that dangles from the bottom end of the goose is pulled. maybe the same creative designer made this piece also..
FYI the HC goose pendant described above is a Carnegie signature.
New collectors and interested visitors should be aware that there're a variety of Hattie Carnegie signatures through the years starting with the oldest - which are the letters- "HC" and note that popular old pieces have been copied by bogus companies.
What a fabulous Hattie Carnegie ring! Her jewelry spanned decades, and went from very ornate to downright tacky. The first 'HC' mark was used in January 1919. Prices vary greatly.
Vintage Costume Jewelry often starts out cheap at yard or antique jewelry sales and moves up the ladder from there. A "picker" might buy a piece for a few dollars, and sell to a local dealer. That item, if fabulous might then wind up at an antique show and purchased again, by another dealer with a fine jewelry store.
You might find a better deal over the Internet, often HC jewelry collectors do not like parting with their purchases though, it might be a long wait to find " that " piece. Your item looks quite fabulous, I do not think you will have long to wait if you intend to sell your Hattie Carnegie ring.
FYI Marilyn Munroe owned a Hattie Carnegie gold and rhinestone bracelet; the estate of Marilyn Munroe offered it in relatively recent years, for $6,500.
Hopefully another visitor can help with price explanation.
