Hi! I also inherited earrings that look like real gold and are stamped K12. They were my great aunt's who immigrated from Italy. Unsure if purchased there or in the US but timeframe likely 1920-1930s. I do have a pic of the stamp. Trying to determine if K12 is the sane as 12K. Also there is either glass or semiprecious stone backed with foil or similar. I'd love to get them repaired...the foil is coming off. Likely my fault cleaning them.

is the jewelry mark on the actual earring or the finding? do the earrings look like they 're gold plated or not? Are there any signs of wearing or flaking in the areas that get the most wear? The only way you can be sure if the metal is gold or gold plated is to acid test the metal. Your local jeweler can do this.
