Answer RY Hallmark by: Anonymous
The RY mark stands for ryan gems in new york. They are known to be one of the few manufacturers who use all natural gemstones and produce their jewelry in USA. They are very reputable and trusted in the jewelry industry.

Ryan Gems - I have a ring marked RY by: Michelle
I looked this mark up because I bought a ring with the same makers mark and it says it stands for a company called Ryan Gems founded in 1979 in New York City.

I have a ring marked with the RY by: Anonymous
Hello,
My husband and I bought a sapphire and diamond ring at auction 20 years ago with the 14 K and RY Maker's Mark. I would love to know who the maker is if you find out.

Thanks for your answer. It continues to be a mystery then. It's stamped 14K gold and I dont see any peeling in real life, perhaps its a pixellated thing you saw from digi photos? It's purchased from a reputable antique jeweller so I would hope they could tell the difference between gold and plated.
Thank you

Thousands of Goldsmiths by: Anonymous
There are so many thousands of goldsmiths who work for major jewellery companies, for small studios and also independent retailers, that it would require months of searching to determine the maker of this lovely piece of jewellery. A search of my own substantial reference library as well as my data base of hallmarks, trade names and copyright trade marks did not reveal the mark seen on this pendant. I know that you say this is 14k gold but there appears to be some peeling of the gold visible which indicates a gold plated piece. Many fine quality gems such as rubies and emeralds are set in gold plate over sterling silver. Sometimes the names are never registered, so there is just no way to identify the makers. Cheers.
