just wanted to mention that the silver colored metal could be white gold - perhaps 18k white gold.

Hi Anne - since 1968, I believe that Italy use a star, then a two digit number (designating the number of the smith) and next to the smiths number there is the initial of the province. Maybe there wasn't enough space? Chris Drissen
