Hello I also have a ring that is stamped one side 925 r and the other side 925. From what I've been told it could mean that the ring is rose gold plated and silver on top. Or it could be because it is a ruby stone?

.925 is the SILVER Standard mark.
.958 is a SILVER Standard mark that was used extensively for a longtime, from 1697 - 1720 and optional afterwards. Not sure about the R mark.
