Gold ring with Amethyst?

There appears to be a cursive "g" and the numbers "4429" on the inside of the band of this ring. There is also deeper sent stamp of a cross? and "14"-which i guess means it is 14 karat gold. The "RP" on the top of the ring I would assume was the former owner's initials. I have included a photo for any comments or info. you may have. Thank you,
