Gold Ring Hallmark

I have a ring given to me by a friend - it is gold and has ornate sides, a red cabochon stone with the script initials W.D. and the hallmark of an anchor tipped to the right and the letter K. No purity or maker's mark. It is a large size -likely a 10 - so probably a men's ring.

Any thoughts on when and where it was made and value?
