Gold Hook Marked Only "14" Without "kt"? Are the Hook, Chain, & Slide Gold or Not?

Hi. I just bought a 50 inch gold chain with a detailed double-holed slide & a lanyard hook on the end, from a good auction house. Only the hook is marked "14" (looks like hand engraved older numerals, with no "kt"). The chain seems more yellow gold & the hook & slide more rose gold (and looks older), but they are all attached to the chain. Is it possible to have the slide not marked, the hook marked only "14", & the chain not at all, & it be actually 14kt? The chain appears to be 18kt, so possibly it was adapted for the other 2 pieces & the original marked catch was removed? There is no tarnish or "turning" whatsoever. I am lost & would appreciate any help you can give, as I paid QUITE alot for it! Thank you.
