Art Deco Earrings _ Essence of Speed by: Anonymous
These are Art Deco earrings. Unfortunately, the finish looks quite worn. The center round stones look their age too. Are they moonstones? A design feature was speed. See the below link for more insight.
- just a quick update. When art deco style went American, further research indicates the style of your earrings that you mention looked like "wings" is consistent with the development of more dynamic motifs of the Art Deco such as zigzags and chevrons - the design sprung from a culture obsessed by speed and efficiency with origins in the area of hydrodynamics where it described the path of least resistance. Originally applied to boats, airplanes and cars by the 1930s streamlining was being used as an aesthetic just about everywhere. The hard angles of the Art Deco grew fast and sleek.

Sterling Native American Indian and Art Deco earrings by: Anonymous
Hi Paula
you mentioned the earrings are marked "Sterling" - could they be Native American Indian? Arts and Crafts? The shape of the earrings, (which look like wings) set with translucent white stones, which possibly could be moonstones do have an Art Deco "style" about them.
