Those #'s were on the key chain starting in 1969 so if you lost your keys they could be returned to you because you registered it. I'm not sure which year they stopped such practices, as it became their iconic symbol/ brand, hence it is on the necklaces & bracelets. (Without the ID numbers)

Hi before deciding if it's a pattern number or such and as you mention you found it, I would be more interested in finding out if it's a genuine Tiffanys Pendant and not replica Tiffanys Jewelry.
There is a lot of replica Tiffany Jewelry in the market place. Compare everything. The Authentic is made of high quality fabrics, The inscriptions are much more clearer and deeply inscribed.
The number might be a pattern number. We are not sure. No image was provided.
