Is there any way I can send a picture of the hallmark I question as real?
Reply: Good morning! Why are you questioning the authenticity? Thats a red flag for me right from the start. Please have a read through the following link first:
I have been trying to find out if a certain WEISS hallmark is genuine, and I have not had any luck. Have emailed many "experts", with no answer. The hallmark is WEISS only but it is "stretched" in an arch of sorts. With the first "S" larger than the last. I have a picture of said hallmark but I see no way to download it here. Can you help me? I am out of options. Thank you...
WEISS did use a number of variations in their jewelry markings - and you will find WEISS mostly on Silver & Costume Jewelry (New York) ca 1942 - 1971
The first mark used was "WEISS" in block letters. Also "Albert Weiss" and A W Co. the later, was also used on jewelry subcontracted out to jewelry factories in Mexico.
