Eastern European or European Compact

I think I have deciphered the marks but can't find them referenced.

There are two marks and the number 585 in one compartment and the number 4585 in the other.
I'd love to know what this all means as the compact is an inherited heirloom from my mother's side of my family.
I think it's 20th century....
