Dutch Cross Necklace

I doubt this is considered costume jewelry but this is my first try. My grandmother gave me a necklace which her grandmother gave to her (my grandmother was born in 1940). She always told me it was "the Dutch cross". My grandmother was from Holland. I just want to know it's history.
