My Lion Hallmark by: LJ
Naomi, it seems you are familiar with the hallmark of a lion with its tail up over its back. Is it walking or lying down, and does it face right, or left?
In my mother's jewelry box I have just found a white gold wedding band marked B, then with what might be a lion lying on its belly (as cats will), facing to the Left, then 18K. I don't know if it was Mom's or possibly Granny's, but maybe the hallmark can help determine approximately when it was made.

Hallmark Determination by: Anonymous
Hi Naomi thanks for your question. Sorry to hear about your-not so good jewelry repair.
There are SO many pictorial marks including animal marks on jewelry, and the big cats seem to be one of the most favorite. We are unable to provide information on these marks without seeing the mark clearly. Unfortunately, as the repair has cut right into the middle of the jewelry marks even a photo may not lead us to a definitive hallmark identification.
