I have a small silver smoff box by Claude Founier. It has the mark like you say. I will like to know more about his works. Would you tell me where to find this information? I will like to know what happen with his shop in 129 rue du Templ... Thanks for your help, Angel.

Gold Cufflinks by: Anonymous
Hi Phil thanks for writing in with the following hallmark question:
" I have a pair of cuff links and they are marked on the lever 14k, as well as 14k on the base of the lever. There is a hallmark which looks like a diamond with CF in it? "
Phil, I can see the 14K AOK but not the maker's mark.
14K, 14ct or 585 (parts per 1000) or 58.5% gold (Asian for overseas market. Common in USA. Russian 584.)
CF in a diamond is a French mark used by CLAUDE FOURNIER (Silversmiths, Paris, France) - ca 1876 - 1908
However, I doubt it is by French maker unless made for the foreign market. If you could send in a follow-up submission and attach a close-up of the CF mark I can compare.
