Hi! Well, it was 18k gold (just the chain, not the pendant). Thanks for your input. Patty

checking for markings by: Anonymous
Hi again and thank you for your help. I see only impressions of the link being soldered or somehow melted together, then squeezed. No other markings on the small links, but I think the clasp also says K18, but it's partly worn off and impressed on the curve. I'm beginning to think it might be gold since cheap necklaces seem to have connecting links which aren't melted together. Also I can't see any worn areas with other colors showing through. I think I will take it to a friend who can test it. Thanks again! Patty

Gold Chain by: Anonymous
Hi Patty
there doesn't seem to be anything wrong this end. There are no other submissions, that I can see, only those already published.
Patty, is that a very small impression in the metal on the connecting link attached to the disk mark K 18? Have you tested the chain yet? Do you think it is solid gold?

Hi! I just received a note marked "new answer", but I can only see your first comment and question and my answer. Am I missing something? Patty

Thanks Rebecca by: Anonymous
Hi Rebecca. Yes it says k 18. There are no other links big enough to mark. I bought the necklace at an estate sale, so I don't know anything about it. Patty

Gold Chain Questions by: Anonymous
Hi Patty
the marking at the lower end of the round connecting disk is not clear. Along with the "MA" letters, you also mentioned "K 18". Is it this mark or not ? Patty, is the chain marked on any of the other links? Is there any background history? The link appears to be a twisted curb link.
